Leasebacks · Business use · Records for your CPA
Aircraft Owners
Clean, separate books for your aircraft, whether it's on leaseback at a flight school, managed by a charter operator or flown for your business. Organize ownership expenses and plan for maintenance, while your CPA handles the tax treatment.
Where owner records fall short
Ownership costs scattered everywhere
Hangar, insurance, fuel, annuals, avionics and loan payments paid from different cards make year-end painful. We set up a ledger for the aircraft alone, separate from your other finances.
Maintenance that arrives as a surprise
Engine overhauls and major inspections are predictable; the bill shouldn't be a shock. We set aside a maintenance reserve per flight hour and show you how it compares with what's coming due.
Leaseback statements you can't check
Rental income, fuel, maintenance and management fees arrive on a monthly statement from the school or operator. We record each line and reconcile it, so you know what the aircraft actually earned and cost.
Business-use records that won't hold up
Depreciation on a business aircraft generally depends on keeping business use above 50%, and dropping below can mean recapture. We tie your usage log to the books so your CPA has the records behind their position.
What's included
Aircraft Owner Ledger
For aircraft owners with leasebacks or business use. A fixed monthly fee, quoted after your free consultation.
- Ownership expenses organized in one ledger
- Maintenance reserve by flight hour
- Leaseback income and expense tracked
- Operator and flight school statements reconciled
- Usage log tied to the books
- Year-end package for your CPA
Your CPA files the returns and decides the tax treatment; we keep the records they rely on.
Working with your CPA
We don't prepare tax returns or property-tax filings. We hand your CPA a clean, reconciled ledger and the usage records behind it, so year-end takes less of their time and yours.
Questions
Do you file my aircraft taxes?
No. Income tax, sales and use tax and property-tax filings stay with your CPA. We keep the records they need.
My aircraft is on leaseback at a flight school. Can you work with their statements?
Yes. We record and reconcile the school's monthly owner statements and flag anything that doesn't match.
Do I need this if I only fly for personal use?
Possibly not. If your aircraft has no business use and no leaseback income, monthly bookkeeping may be more than you need. A short call will tell us.
How is pricing set?
A fixed monthly fee based on your fleet size, transaction volume and how current your books are. We quote it after your free consultation, and it doesn't change with the hours we spend.
